We were pleasantly surprised to find out we've been featured as the Blog of Note!
I'm speechless; we didn't even have to make all of Julia Child's recipes. I thought that when our blog was wiped out, we'd be starting from square one. Seems like Karma really works; I'm going to go buy a lotto ticket.
If you're new to the site, as most of you are: we're two home-brewers with a passion for creating high quality ales and lagers. Gene's more of the beer guru and I'm just starting out.
While we wait for our kegs to empty or our fermentation to finish, we'll also throw in a review now and then.
So a big THANK YOU to the blogger community for taking notice!
Congrats Eugene and Nick!!! Glad I am not the only one reading and enjoying your post!
ReplyDeleteThird try at commenting. First two failed (my fault). You have a great blog. I learned to love a good brew by marrying into an Irish family who actually knew how to make home brew, and did. My kids, grands, and greats will lol should they ever know I'm following a couple of brewers! I'm emailing yr blog address to the family brew-lovers. Thx for the info re lost blogs.
ReplyDeleteNice Job Eugene!!
ReplyDeleteKim
Congratulations. A person just cannot get enough information about beer.
ReplyDeleteMac
I have a friend from work who loves to brew I think your blog is awesome!
ReplyDeleteYou can't beat some REAL ale !
ReplyDeleteI love beer !!!
ReplyDeleteHello I like beer but I haven't tried any ale. I'm up for the test though!
ReplyDeleteThank you for all the blog love! And Nakia, there's thousands of different Ales out there, so if you don't like one, keep trying!

ReplyDeleteForget the Lotto ticket, this is a result of your hard work!
ReplyDelete@McConnell If making and drinking beer is hard work, I'll never retire!
ReplyDeleteyour blog is great!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I've been a 'good' beer fan for many years, I've just recently started home brewing. I'm still learning, so discovering your blog was a good find - lots of good tips and honest opinions. "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." - Ben Franklin
ReplyDeletethat is good ....thanx
ReplyDeleteChaps, fantastic blog. Can you message me as I have a question about your layout. Thank you and keep up the good work!
ReplyDelete@Chelseadraft Not really sure how to private message you. What's the question? Maybe I could answer it here?
ReplyDeleteI mentioned earlier that I used Blogger in Draft to make the site; this layout is pretty much one of the templates with a different background image, logo, and some other little tweaks. I really like the new features.
@Tantilloon,
ReplyDeleteThanks for getting back to me, I have been trying to implement my own background image etc to update and revamp my site, have asked questions on the blogger in draft blog but it isn't working.
How did you guys do it?
@Chelseadraft Ahh yeah, that did take a little time. There are really two problems, blogger won't host images large enough to be backgrounds and there seems to be no way to select a background in the template builder that isn't one of theirs.
ReplyDeleteTo get around this, you need to host your background image somewhere else. I have a GoDaddy hosting account which costs $7/month; the logo and the background are hosted there. I've heard Imageshack is free, but don't quote me on that.
The second thing you need to do is go into the layout editor and edit the template source code. Find the URL in the CSS background-image property of the template image and switch it with the full path of your image (http://www.yourhosting.com/theimage.)
Hope that helps!
